Do US airlines pay cash for delays?
Not by law. The Department of Transportation dropped its plan for delay compensation in 2025. But flights to or from Canada, Europe or the UK can still pay cash under those rules.
What about meals and hotels?
Many US airlines have publicly committed to covering meals or hotels when they cause a delay. Ask for it under their customer service plan.
