What counts as the airline's fault?
Crew problems, technical faults and the airline's own staff strikes are the airline's responsibility under EU 261. Bad weather, air traffic control decisions and security risks are extraordinary circumstances, so no cash is owed for those.
How long do I have?
Time limits depend on the country where you'd claim, so don't wait.
Does it cover Iceland, Norway and Switzerland?
Yes, EU rules also apply to flights to and from those countries.
