Stuck in a gym contract?
You may be able to cancel.
Ontario and BC give you 10 days to change your mind. Ontario lets you stop a renewal, BC lets you cancel if you move or the gym changes, and Quebec lets you cancel early in the term. Get a letter that cites your province's law.

Fill in what you have. It's built on your device; none of this is sent to us.
How to send it
- Email it to the gym and keep the sent email. If you can, also send it by registered mail.
- Don't rely on telling the front desk; a written notice is what counts.
- Watch your card or bank statement. If they keep charging, dispute the charge with your bank and file a complaint with your provincial consumer protection office.
What else are you owed?
Orders that never arrived, gift cards, door-to-door contracts, uncashed CRA cheques, class action settlements and flight compensation. All free to check.
Good to know
What if my gym is in Alberta?
Alberta has no gym-specific cancellation law. If you signed at your door or online, the door-to-door or online rules may still apply. Check your contract's cancellation terms.
Is this legal advice?

Who runs this?
Owed is made by JKwek Holdings Ltd., a Canadian company. We're not a law firm.
